I just got back to my Swiss life in Zürich after spending a week in Stockholm. It wasn’t really the plan to stay a full week but happened to be and it was great. Being in Stockholm one week a month is actually perfect. At least during the summer. In the winter I am happy to stay away if it is not real winter and snow. My Stockholm week became rather busy but fun so now I will share all the best of I managed to do.
Maxing out a week in Sweden
I got home on just after midnight on Saturday. Went home with the very last Arlanda express train before the first one the next morning had a derailment which closed down all train access to the airport. Luckily only two people got hurt. Could have been much worse. On Saturday morning I walked over to ICA to buy all food I missed and had a typical Swedish breakfast with Polarbröd, Bregott, cheese and Fjällyoghurt infront of the TV news before heading out for a 15K run at Djurgården. Then I went to the city center to buy some stuff. In the evening I was heading home to a friends place for drinks and snacks before going out to clubbing at Natten.

Västårås getaway
On Sunday it was mothers day so I took the train to my hometown Västerås to see my parents. They are going to sell their house so helped out to sort out some of my stuff. We also went out for a walk in the city center, I did went running my favorite track twice, watched the ice hockey final and had BBQ.

Morning walks and sunshine
Monday was a day off in Switzerland so I got a long weekend. When I was back in Stockholm in the afternoon I had to write an online exam for a university course I have been studding this spring. Think it went pretty good. Had to do something when I was having to much time off in February and March. Weather has been really good so every morning before starting my homeoffice I went out for a walk around Karlbergskanalen. Don’t ask me how many times I been taking that walk.

Homeoffice
Then Tuesday to Friday I had home office. Normally I am not a huge fan of home office but it was pretty nice. Not something I would love to do all the time but once in a while it is rather sweet. Best part is definitely to not get dressed in human clothes and that I could do various errands during the lunch break. After checking out from work on Tuesday I biked to Ursvik to play soccer. Always miss that during the summer.

Breakfast run
Wednesday morning I joined in for a breakfast run with Saucony runclub at Downtown camper. We had a 8K run along Strandvägen and Djurgården before indulging their fab breakfast buffét. Bumped in to a former SAS colleague there also which was fun.

Bye, bye SATS
I have canceled my SATS membership after 12 years but had to pay for June so 1st of June I did of course went to do some favorite classes. Never managed to do double up of the HIIT classes before but did and it was loads of sweat and fun. On Saturday before watching Stockholm marathon I also managed to do three classes. Bodybalance, Bodycombat and GRIT. Have to find a good gym in Zürich where they have good quality Les Mills instructors.

Move for the planet Adidas race
Then all of a sudden it was marathon weekend. I was not going to run but now when I ended up staying some extra days and got a starting place to the 5K race on Friday I had to run. It was brutal. Or I made it brutal. Still fun though to max out on 5K. Managed to finish at 22:17 which was 1,5 minute from my PB but a good time to chase next week when I will join the Swiss team in a 5K race here in Zürich. Saturday turned out to be a full day out watching the marathon, having some real tacos at La Neta and Stikki nikki ice cream. But damn, the ice cream in Stockholm got so expensive. If I would have done my try ice cream test in Stockholm by now I would have been ruined.

But now, back to the summer in Switzerland. Flew back super early this morning so I will have the whole day to enjoy Zürich. Arlanda was as usual a less pleasant experience.
