Visiting Vienna
Only one hours flight from Zürich is the Austrian capital of Vienna located. I just been there one time before one day and since I was short of time due to making home office from there between flights I mostly remember me sitting at Starbucks working and the morning run when I tried to capture as much of the sights I could. Like Schönbrunn. And the magnificent buildings. Now I got one day again to spend and my shoes was tied and ready to walk the city. Before taking the boat to Bratislava.

Walking friendly city
Vienna is very walking friendly. This Friday the weather was stunning. Zero clouds and 19 degrees. Spring was in full bloom and the happiness in people you could almost touch.

I picked up a city guide and started with a fika breakfast at Starbucks. Sorry the cafe famous city but I needed something uncomplicated. I booked storage of my bulky suitcase using Bounce app. Highly recommended if you need luggage storage while travels. The it was me, myself and I on the streets of Vienna.

I started off with a stroll along Donau. Beautiful place and perfect for running, biking or spending the day at one of the many bars. Or take a swim in the movable pool.

Along the river banks the walls are decorated with beautiful graffiti so it is like an art exhibition to walk there.

Parks were filled with people enjoying themselves in the sun so I also did after X steps. Read my book a bit and recharged my feet’s.

Kept on walking passing one park after another. Thinking if people in this city are working or if everyone took a day off because it was so crowded everywhere. Well, a lot of tourists I noticed.

I passed by the world famous Spanish riding school. Did not go in though. Another time. Also going to a Sachertarte cafe and classical concert is on my Vienna bucket list for the future.

I had an outdoor day. Walking one after another street. Going into small shops. Having a coffee. Taking it easy.

Stopped by here and there. Like a spa for the soul. Sat down in the Stadtpark people watching.

Then I picked up my bag and walked back to the river to take the boat to Bratislava. A new city and a new country in my books. Country 85 on the visit list. Vienna has potential and I hope I will be back to explore more.
