Island trip

Out there in the Pacific the island group of Hawaii islands are. Six hours flight from mainland US and a whole other world. Now it was some years since I went last time but my memories are still there. It was a great trip and we explored some old favorites of mine and many new. Pearl Harbour I did not re-visited but my absolute favorite beach in the world Kailua beach I had to say hi to again. This post will take you to my favorite places from the island of Ohau.

Kailua beach park

If you look for beach perfection Kailua beach park is the place to go. The beach is big, varied and have the most clear water you most likely every experienced, nice surf inspired restaurants and bars, cute beach villas, a lookout mountain to climb and amazing sunsets. A full day visit here is a must at Ohau.

North shores

Another absolute amazing place. A bit like a hipster vibe but this place is so good. And the food. I still dream about the fantastic quesadilla I had at the taco truck. Not to forget the small shops with unique stuff to buy that not everyone has got from IKEA.

Turtle spotting

I like to see animals from distance but challenged myself and walked to the turtle beach. We laid down but my eyes were always on alert. I didn’t wanted to have a turtle eating my toes. Suddenly I grabbed all my stuff in a milli second. A turtle was moving towards us. A bit scary place for an animal afraid person but a must see beach.

Pineapple plantain

Anyone else that associates pineapple with Hawaii? Of course a visit to the home of the golden fruit was a must do. The Dole plantain is very touristic but a short stop at least for a bite of fresh pineapple.

Roads of Oahu

Most roads on the island are beautifully located just near the water. Taking the car out for a ride will make you want to stop in every corner.

Jurassic park mountains

Did you know that many scenes from the Jurassic park movies was shot in Hawaii? And that the landscape looks like in the movies? If you did not believe it you will find it out while there. There is also a Jurassic park tour that brings you out to where parts of the movie was made in the village of Kualoa.

These are some of my highlights of Oahu. Hope this was some inspiration for visiting the beautiful island.
